Oh yeah, I forgot to tell people that I'll be in LA (but mostly booked up) next week. Wednesday - Monday. I'm going to the Gallifrey convention and will be staying at the hotel connected to the convention center. I won't have a car. I believe Thursday afternoon and evening is my best bet for stuff and things.

**IMPORTANT: There is an improv group at The Groundlings Theatre in LA, and they are doing a show every night March 1st through the 4th. I've seen one of their shows before, and it was excellent. A lot of Saturday Night Live comedians got their start from this place, and it's actually relatively famous. If you'd like to go, let's quickly decide on one of those nights, and go about buying our tickets, because shows tend to sell out.
Also, we have a few new restaurant stops on the agenda for you guys:
Griddle Cafe: Has GIANT pancakes, an order of which could feed either three people or one Bobby. Steampunk Cafe: Has delicious food and awesome art. Possibly a trip to the best tearoom in town.
Other than that, there are a lot of concerts and comedy venues. It's going to be a good time.
EDIT: Also, how do you guys feel about museums? We went to the Getty last time, but there are a lot of awesome museums in the area that we could check out.
I'm always down for museums, as long as it's not bogus modern/contemporary art stuff. Classical art, history, astro, whatev is all good to me.
Also, what's the best teahouse in town these days? Tudor closed, didn't they? Also Tudor closed

Yeah, Tudor House closed. The best tearoom in town is actually kind of far away, but it's worth the drive. There are a lot of tearooms around that are worth the drive, though, so I definitely think we should hit one.
As for museums, I completely agree. I was thinking about hitting the Getty Villa this time. It's a museum modeled after an ancient Roman villa, and houses a lot of ancient Roman/Greek art. It's very cool. There's also the science museum. Or the natural history museum. SO MANY COOL MUSEUMS! Note that if we want to head to the villa, we have to make reservations. Tickets are free, but they only let a certain amount of people in at a time.
I'm definitely on board with The Groundlings, but I dig that sort of thing. Curious to hear what the visitors think on it. Would likely be a great time regardless.

Oh, also on the agenda: Lucky Baldwins, All' Angelo, and Robinhood British Pub. It'll be a full 4 days.

Is it too late to get in on this? I may have a few days where I'll be in the area and able to attend.

Nope! Not too late at all. Just let us know which days, because some of the stuff we're doing will require tickets and/or reservations. You're also welcomed to crash with us.

I am very much pro-comedy club and museum. Since I've got to work part of the time I'm out there, days I'll be able to join in the merriment are: 3/1, 3/3 after ~6:30 pm and 3/4 all day, so if some of the awesome could happen during those times, that would be cool
Other than that, I'll be sitting in meetings with such thrilling topics as: "Turning Cancer on its Side: Convergence of Physical Sciences Perspectives in Oncology" and "An Integrated Approach for Prioritizing Causal Variants in Whole Exome and Whole Genome Sequencing"
EDIT: Also, because of all the meetings+sitting+conference food, doing something outside (hiking, etc) would really make me happy too....just a suggestion

So, let's try for The Groundlings on Friday, March 1st. There are two shows, one and 8pm and one at 10pm. I think 8pm would be preferable so we can maybe do something before or after. Let's decide quick and purchase the tickets soon!
So, that would be our Friday happenings. It looks like Marie's out for Saturday, but I was thinking the rest of us can head out to breakfast and a museum on that day... and then tea Sunday?
Aaaaaalso, I know Marie and Daffy will be staying with us, but who else is going to need to crash at our place? You're welcomed to on any of the nights March 1-5. I'd like to stock the kitchen for you guys.
@teramona: Ryan and I are both cool w/ 8pm groundlings on 3/1. Will you be buying tickets en masse and we'll paypal you dollars, or should we buy our own?
Also, is it still tea if you have it after 6pm? I would really like to go to tea.

We'll be buying the tickets from the website. I put the link in one of my past posts. Since you guys are down, Dan and I will go ahead and buy our tickets now. It's going to be a lot of fun.
Also, we'll make sure to get to a tea place with you. I'll look for ones that maybe stay open later. Also, I noticed you wanted something outdoorsy. I'll look for something!
Comments
Yeah. You should definitely come.
If yes please get pics!
Short answer, I won't be able to . Hope you guys have fun .
Edit: damn, it's sold out. Heh, maybe I could register as press and cover it

Disregard that: bourbon.
