Transmission upgrades add retarders allowing you to take off ramps and slopes at higher gears without issue or severe loss of speed.
I enjoy it a lot, it allows me to ignore the brakes and not take a penalty for it. Also when they implement brake damage they'll become really helpful.
I've made it to level 10, at about €185k. Couple more levels and I can but the high end Volvo. Not sure how things are going to change at that point. I'm getting €30+ /km doing €30K per run and I don't have to worry about gas or repairs. I presume I can still go back and do pick up jobs after I buy my truck. Can someone confirm that for me? Also is there an end game here? Do you shoot for 100% exploration? €1 million?
I've switched off the in game radio. I couldn't find a decent hard rock station so I'm running pandora now.

This is the cold, thousand-yard stare of a man whose life is falling apart. He's three weeks behind on rent, and as such picked up his third trailer of the day. The last fourteen hours have been spent behind the wheel of that truck, driving through rain and traversing traffic. The long hours truckin' across Europe have driven a wedge between him and his wife. She won't even look him in the eyes when he is home. The sad part is that the damage to their relationship could be repaired if only he could spend some quality time with her. But the mad rush to keep up with the Jones has forced him to work outrageous hours. And the one weekend a month that he has free is spent with his children, who he hardly even knows anymore. They're growing so fast. Too fast, in fact, and forty-eight hours a month is hardly enough time.
And on top of that, some asshole just smashed into the front of his Semi at 30km/h in an effort to shave twenty seconds off his delivery time.

Thanks! I have to admit, watching people play ETS is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm not sure why I am fascinated with watching someone drive a truck on a computer, but I am.
So it says in this that you should stay in the inside lane of the road to let faster cars go around you. Is it really to opposite of driving in the US like this?
The more relevant thing I saw out of it is that the right lane turns into the exit, instead of the right lane gaining extra width and a lane that becomes the exit. If for no other reason, that's why you should stay on the left.

Not going to change that now.

Latest update added in air pressure simulators so now the motor brake and retarders serve an actual purpose!.
Turn it and speed limiters on (If you're going 140km/h you're going to blow out your brakes) for a real deal trucking experience.
