@linc I won't be able to make it this year on account of flying to England and buying dinner for a hundred people... but if someone wants to take up the reigns on ICMCHG, I have the equipment from previous years available!
Is there a distillery in your hometown that's as good as Two James? A brewery as good as Kuhnhenn's?
Bring it, and we'll have a blind taste test and see how your fair city's finest holds up to the rest.
Styles of beverages would be matched. I would bring bourbon from Columbus, which I still rep considering Chambana doesn't have a lot to offer in this dept. It would probably be good to schedule this sometime before the Two James tour, after which 20+ people will be better equipped to recognize the taste.
@Gargoyle That sounds pretty close to a @RyanMM tasting with the twist of focusing on geography. You guys might wanna collude on getting the appropriate liquids to ICHQ & finding volunteers if you wanna do this. Folks' ability to travel locally for beer/liquor is going to start getting harder the closer we get.
@DeathJester and I now have passports. We are interested in a day trip to the Canadas before Expo starts. We'll be arriving in Detroit either Sunday or Monday and will probably go up on Tuesday. Got room for 2-3 others interested in going.
Titanfall (assuming someone can figure out how to do this by then)
Minecraft (creative & hunger games)
UT2K4 (late night)
Minor events (probable/run alongside other events)
Civ5
Classic Battletech
2014 Decathalon Games - 1 round each (rough draft)
Quake 3 (1 free-for-all; small map)
Left4Dead 2 (1 level as survivors each)
HL2:DM (physics only)
CastleCrashers (timed run? new characters)
Chivalry
The Decathalon will likely be teams of 5 where only 4 play at a time. You can swap players at any time during matches. All team members need to play at least half the time. Each team therefore only needs 4 players to have any particular game (or only 4 players with a computer at all). I may up teams to 6 depending on how many interested folks we get.

If this is a thing I could bring some Iowa contenders. I have a bourbon and a rye.

So I looked at the wrong week and the Tigers are actually in town the week of Expo. They have a weekday special for a four pack of tickets for $19 each and you get a ticket, hot dog, soda and chips. The game on Thursday is at 1:00PM. Anyone interested?

I'll start nagging @ryanmm about the beer tasting tonight. I will be persuasive and make him plan things. I do this because I care.

So, I'm sure this won't come as a shock to anyone, but it is with a heavy heart that I have to say that @Myrmidon and I will not be making EPIC this year. We're traveling to Iowa next month for a bridal shower that my future mother in law is throwing for me ( @CANNONFODDER! YOU SHOULD COME! IT'S ON THE 29th!)... Then there's the whole wedding and honeymoon thing, so time and money did not allow for an additional trip to Michigan.
@Primesuspect, is there still time to buy a ticket, though? I'd like an honorary badge and shirt made for myself if that's cool. Bonus if I can get everyone to sign it for me as a wedding gift, maybe? Possibly?
Anyway, so obviously this means I will not be able to host a tea tasting. I'd really like it if someone else wanted to do it in my place. If so, just PM me and I'll give you recipes and tips and whatnot.
@Linc What was the best idea? Also, I'm curious what's happening with the tea party - I missed it last year for some reason so I'm not sure how it's usually run but if there's anything I can do to help, I'd be more than happy to! I am a massive tea fanatic ^_^

I've compiled a draft schedule. It's getting a little freakish how quickly I can do this now.
Pricing is 39 cash bux
I've stubbed in some anchor/firm events: http://epic2014.sched.org/
Absence from the schedule doesn't indicate it isn't happening yet; that list is incomplete.
Opening on Wednesday now? Glad I looked at the schedule.. or did we setup and open on Wed last year?
Just a brain fart. It's Thursday.

Idea:
My Town Showdown - Blind Taste Test

I'd happily mail in some contenders if you guys went that route and also wanted some mountain brew.

Anyone have suggestions on where to go?
Toronto come hang out with meeeeeee
Aren't you coming to Expo?
Edit: Not that it would change anything.
Video games for 2014!
Major events (highly likely/dedicated timeslot)
Minor events (probable/run alongside other events)
2014 Decathalon Games - 1 round each (rough draft)

Motor Burger.
MMM Templeton Rye.
Also, Millstream Brewery has some contenders for beer.
Do they have Poutine?
They do. http://www.windsoreats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/motormenu.pdf
Or Toppling Goliath - though I hear they're hard to get.
So can I request a loaner gaming PC, or should I finally buy a gaming laptop this year?
There are locals who are more than capable of providing that. I used this service last year.
Snark, you can use my laptop.

@CrazyJoe That'd blow the ropes course + official opening + Magic tournament + first food tour. Maybe not the best plan.
Fair enough.

This is the schedule thus far: http://epic2014.sched.org/grid
Now's the time to chime in if I've done something horrible or missed your thing.

Is there no wine tasting event this year?
