These new game play modes ROCK!

And here I thought 2K4 was going to be nothing but mildly better graphics and a few vehicles....

The feeling of the game is close to the Original UT which is VERY welcome'd. And this is only a beta. Dayum.

Game seems to run ALOT smoother for me than 2k3.

Overall it has a lot better feel to it (see Macks post above.)

    I give it 2 thumbs up :D

YES!!!! but I think its only one map. You can also make your own games and play other maps, but only against bots.

The weblink was slow at first (40kb) for like 2-3 minutes. Then it picked up to about 200kb.

I hit the atari site shortly after noon PST and was able to get it the speed at 150k a sec.
hope I can still get it at that at home..

I was checking out the screen shots on it... It looks alot like U2 XMP which I closed beta tested.. Graphics wise that is...

McBain and I have been playing it for awhile, not too shabby, but I have to get used to this double clicking strafe crap....

thats just for jumping to one side. its been like that for a while now. if you've played any UT this game is a simple pick up and go game. Hell it's pretty simple even if you've never played UT, just learning your weapons is hard. You'd be surprised with the amount of idiots that won't link their beams with yours when fighting an enemy, come on now thats why it's called a link gun....

watch out for [SM]-Gobbles in team DM... im brutal... hehehe

coverts from brutal fragger to nice geek...

Thats a blast... graphics very much like 2003.. but smoother and faster game play... I was lost on bombing run which is my best game.. Turns out im a good team dm'er...

    Flak gun is my friend...

I don't know if I like it. The weapons are rubbish. The only map you get is too big to evaluate, it'd take ages to figure it out. As with most rehashed games they seem to upgraded the graphics and crippled everything else. I'll give it more time but I think it's originat UT and CoD for me.

I think that they unnerfed the weapons... I was able to kill someone with the stock rifle which in 2003 was almost impossible.. I also noticed that the gatlin gun was more accurate and effective.

The graphics were smoother to me but appeared almost the same as 2003. The bombing run map is friggin huge which does not bode well for that type of game, and it was very confusing.. I really did enjoy team deathmatch.. the map was not to big, and I fragged alot of people.

As a stand alone game I dont know if id buy it. It however would make a great expansion pack. I am expecting far more out of then what I have seen.

I don't like how the crosshair changes with the gun. Is there a way to use a universal crosshair?

Yeah I didn't really look, just remembered that it was annoying how the x-hair changed for each gun. I just noticed last night that you can change what mode you want to play online, I thought it was only that grid mode with the one map.

Playing UT again is hurting my CS/BF1942 game .... damn aim is off and I keep jumping around like an idiot. :P
