I don't know if I like it. I feel like LaBrie's vocal track is far to prominent in the mix for me to enjoy the musicality of everyone else in the band.
I wasn't immediately in love with the new album like the ones before it but after a few listens I can tell it's going to grow on me. As a concept album it does incredibly well at flowing from one song to the next without you really noticing. As for LaBrie, I think this might be his most impressive performance yet. There are very subtle differences in his vocals depending on which character he is voicing and I think the prominence you're talking about is intentional to make those differences more apparent. Image caught my attention, I like the title but I didn't really enjoy it, and the visuals overlapping was a bit unpleasant.
