I really need more stuff like this. Progressive type stuff. Punk and emo can only go so far This thread is great, btw, so many different ideas and styles
Right now it's just a tossed-together pile of steaming crap. But it works. That's an mp3 from my uncle's band (St. Bernard) that I was talking about. Pressed around '82, I hear, though I haven't talked to him in awhile. I'd put more stuff of theirs up, including some of The Waxmen (another of his, albeit less comical, bands), but, well, I just don't have the space. Another song or two will be it, for now...
And Tangerine Dream. Very interesting progressive/electronic. It reminds me of music you'd hear on some graphics demo. Or something they'd have in Metroid Prime 2. Pretty cool.
Mackanz: It just wasn't Green Day, though Granted, it was a good album (I like Homecoming especially), but it just didn't have that ... get-up-and-jump-around-because-you-feel-you-have-to-because-it's-Green-Day feeling to it

Three Doors, currently. A friend told me about these guys. Very good. Kinda like a cross between Tool and Pink Floyd, with a hint of Godsmack. Shake well before using. Serves 8.
Duran Duran - Nice (from the 2004 album Astronaut... who knew these guys where still around?! ) New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble - Nasty by Nature Ben Kweller - Down
Dude. Rick. I'm pretty sure you should never talk again! :bawling:
The Who created the original. And while the Limp Bizkit version is good, The Who's is MUCH better. If you ever get a chance, listen to the album by them called Who's Next. That's when it came out.
It's not THAT old of a song, either. It's possible that The Who did a cover of it, but as far as I know, they created it. Who's Next was released in '71 or '74, I'm not positive. But yeah. They rule
Edit:
Oh, and my stepdad is a The Who freak Just yesterday he set my old stereo up on either side of the drum kit, blasted it, and played to the whole album So yeah. We have every album of theirs, and it's rubbed off
My dad has Who's Next somewhere around here. The Who? That tape's probably sitting somewhere near Rush, Queen, ZZ Top. All those old cassetes are alphabetically organized. Nobody's listened to any of them in a really long time, since we don't have any cassette players around here, unless you count the ones in the cars.
I guess I just like Limp Bizkit's better because I didn't hear the original until WAY after I listened to Limp Bizkit's version. I was like... addicted to that song. And then I heard The Who. I was like... wtf is that? Maybe the general tone of Limp Bizkit's version is just... darker, for lack of words. The first thing I thought when I heard The Who was... They sounds like a bunch of idiots.
Heh heh, none taken. It's always different when you hear things in reverse order. It's definitely darker, and heavier. There's a remixed version of it on the last track, I believe, that I didn't think was very good (they remixed it).
Anyways, a lot of their stuff is good. My Generation is old, but still makes you bounce to it
(Oh, and those bands that it's sitting next to? All good )

Have played it three times and really don't know what to make of it
It's either brilliant or a big pile of doggie doo doo.

Its not a bad album, got it on at the moment.
It's pretty funny how much of an improvement Limp Bizkit's rendition of this song is over the original.
