Interesting -- although you definitely can tell how the numbers get skewed if you look at multiple fights. If one of us dies, depending on where we are in the fight, the other takes twice as much damage. Would be helpful to look at the trend of these numbers over all the attempts that night -- and then possible compare it to when abilities were used (to find what was most effective). On the plus side, we're fairly equally geared and have similar ability to mitigate/heal damage.
Everything I've read about this fight basically says that if someone steps in a mine (even 1), it's almost impossible to survive phase 4.
Do most of the mine hits happen after phase 1? Wondering about tanking the bosses in the middle of the room and letting ranged drop mines at the edge where he drops down?

I would guess that the reason mines are placed in the middle is that it is less movement overall for ranged compared to them running around the outside? I don't know if that actually makes sense, also gives them more room to move if there is a problem.

Interesting -- it lists Nether Blasts as avoidable damage that I took (which comes from the Mages, but is interruptible), even though tanks are on the anomalies.
The following is a guide someone else made taking the 90th percentile of each class at 673-679 and compared them for each fight.
Some things I noticed:
Balance Druids are OP
Demonology is way higher than I expected.
AoE classes in general are very strong
Survival hunters are the way to go
Shadow sucks at AoE
In addition to this, I will provide numbers! The following is the closest class to 0% in the above table for each fight. Note: **This data is for 50th percentile, 665-672 iLvl **on Heroic difficulty. This change was made to more closely fit our guild. (I didn't see that big of a difference in DPS from normal to heroic looking at the data.)
In other words, these are some numbers you can compare yourself to! For a given fight, you can take the average DPS from the second table, add the percentage from the above table and get an approximate estimate of the "average" performance adjusted to your class.
Things to keep in mind:
The class adjustment is using a 90th percentile ranking, so it might be a little bit skewed.
We as a group have only seen these fights 3-4 times; many of the top performers do this 5-7 nights a week.
This data is subject to change with strats, special roles, etc.
If you have dual specs, you can change between them to perhaps get better DPS.
Except that its not a theoretical damage, its actual numbers based on the encounters.
So, if you are a Fury warrior, facing Grull, follow the following process:
1) Average DPS is 25,539 for that fight on Heroic
2) From the top chart, Fury has, on average, a 2.57% higher DPS than the overall. 25,539 * 1.0257 = 26,195 DPS
So, if you had combat logs, you should be doing around that level of DPS on that boss.
Didn't think about that, but probably true. I found conflicting information stating that combat logs were defaulted to either 40 or 200 yards and could be changed or could not be changed with console commands. It appears with a little reading that the distances were previously able to changed, but that was many patches ago. I imagine, based on some raid sizes, that 200 yards is the actual number but I didn't see a blue post anywhere in my 5 mins of searching/reading. I wonder if warcraftlogs/AMR is planning to implement merging from multiple sources or something like that to get around phasing/distance issues.

We'll get it!

Most of the mine hits I've seen are in phase 2

Choo down and Heroic pump up twins.
Maybe we would have killed choo choo several attempts earlier if I could just stop standing in bad.
How does your DPS compare to the other classes?

Dude, spriests are getting their shit pushed in. Yuck.
Single target only. Its an AoE raid. I can't wait to see the numbers when Insanity works for Mind Sear. I think that will make us strong/ normal AoE.
I'll have to give survival spec a shot in the next raid to see if it makes a difference.
Dit...to
I think I am being dense.. might be due to lack of WoW. Splain to me what I am looking at @CannonFodder ?
So, its like this: http://www.simulationcraft.org/reports/Raid_T17N.html

If I was ilvl 665-672 based on your post with the chart.
Correct.
Thanks
Again, these will be off due to my two D/Cs and potential misses due to slowness
