I think the IC user database is probably still in wp_users and the meta table related to it, and glue is probably still installed to communicate with that table to generate the user links which are likely all called by a single vanilla function that is hooked in to glue and @Linc is not as ghetto fabulous as I am so he won't just rewrite user links with jquery after the dom loads because he cares about ux and doing things the right way because reasons.
I just changed the homepage to Vanilla, I didn't turn off WordPress. All the old articles are still served via WordPress, so those pages still need Glue to operate. Theoretically our publishing system is still the same. I don't plan to kill Glue, I just plan to rework that particular part related to guest commenting.
I just filed a support ticket to have Apache and PHP upgraded. Pray for me.
