Er...... good for them, but Microdrives arn't going to fit in my 2.5" external drive bay or my Amiga.......
You are also thinking of PCMCIA ATA cards rather than Microdrives, Microdrives are Type II compact flash media (but they are actually drives as opposed to solid state ATA CF type 1 cards).

A low level wouldn't work as it is basiclly initiated from the BIOS onboard the drive which then does what it does, but effectively clearing its own BIOS settings (like password) isn't one of them. There is a chance that it could, but if you think about it, the info is stored on the drive itself, while the drives settings are stored on it's own Mini-BIOS.

Hmm... low-level format, anyone?
Still need another one, but it needs to be at least 2GB but below 4.5GB.

Oh god no (I have been through many discussions and threads about trying to low level format on an external drive)........
It's not possible unless you cant directly interface with the drive, which wont be possible.

Unless all the Auctions fall though (which I hope not).
Cheers all,
