Final thoughts
From an analytical perspective, the Corsair HX620W’s peak-to-peak variation in ripple is worrisome, though your computer probably would not care in day-to-day operation. We were similarly concerned with the unit’s tendency to slip under ideal voltages when a load has been applied.
At the end of the day we would have preferred to see less ripple and more consistent voltage. While the power supply is by no means bad, we do not recommend pairing it with a monstrous tri-SLI system.
With that said, we strongly believe that this power supply is perfect for a system built on a budget of $1200 or less. Corsair has always made solid products, and we are definitely not worried about this one faltering or failing under the load such a system would pose.
Alternatively, the HX620W may be a perfect choice for someone who is looking to build an attractive system. As the flat cables take a nod from the direction of SATA, the attractive colors really round it out to give the unit a flavor we dig.
We are pleased to present the Corsair HX620W with the Icrontic Stamp of Approval.
You can find this power supply for as little as $149.99 at online retailers.
