If you have been on TF2 at all in the last two weeks, you know about the ash. Since The Pyromania Update dropped on us on June 27th, players have been finding burnt items along with their expected random weapons. If you have any more burned items, you only have a limited amount of time to do something with them. Crafting four of the burned treasures will give you a Pile of Ash. To craft a Pile of Ash, log into TF2, go into Items, and click on Crafting. Click on the Special tab at the top (Shaped like a Star). There is a recipe there for “Fabricate Pile of Ash.” Place your four burned items into the crafting area and click Craft! Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a Pile of Ash.
So why is this pile of ash any better than the previous four you used to craft? Well, as the description states, “It looks like there is something in there.” To see what it is, open your backpack and select the Pile of Ash by clicking on it. Click the “Use” button and you will be presented with a Scorched Crate and/or a Pyromania weapon or Hat/Misc.
If you receive a Scorched Crate, you can purchase a Scorched Key from the Mann Co Store for $2.49 and open your crate. You will receive either a hat/misc from the Pyromania Update, a Strange RainBlower or Strange Lollychop. If that is not worth it to you, no biggie, the slot in your back pack will free up tomorrow.
All of the burned items, Piles of Ash and Scorched crates will disappear at some point tomorrow, July 11th. If you get a weapon/hat/misc from ash piles or crates, rest easy, those are not going anywhere. If you have less than four burned items or any Scorched crates you don’t plan to open, here is your opportunity to try your hand at trading or maybe give them to a friend who can use them.
If you have not played TF2 this week, hop on the server with us tonight, and play with some awesome players—we don’t bite. The burned items are still dropping so you will get some along with your normal item drops.
Thank you for listening. This has been a reminder by your Digital Neighborhood Hat Enthusiast, BobbyDigi.
