Mac OS X For Intel Leaked, Cracked

A new variant of Mac OS X for Intel began surfacing on Internet sites early Thursday, boasting the ability to run on any x86 based computer.

Although many believed it was only a matter of time before such a leak occurred, Apple had taken stringent measures to ensure the Intel version of its operating system stayed locked down, including purportedly using hardware-based security with a TPM chip, otherwise known as Palladium. Videos of Mac OS X on an Intel laptop were posted by a French Mac enthusiast site Wednesday.

Muddocktor: “I think that’s great. Let these early crackers/adopters debug OSX for x86 and then have Apple release it as a stand-alone OS for everyone.”

airbornflght heh heh heh....this is saying something.

If mac is stooping to selling to pc customers, there numbers for their new os must not be up to par. I think they are gonna fall off the table in the next three or four years

I predict the opposite, selling their software to PC users would generate massive sales, and increase the sale of their hardware after about 2 years also. My opinion.

Leonardo Gravite, I partially agree with you. I don't know if OSX would entice Wintel users to purchase Apple hardware, but I believe many thousands of people would pay good money to have a copy of OSX. I know I would. But then, if piracy of the Apple OS would be as prevalent as is with Windows, Apple might lose much of there hardware sales simultaneous with not picking up a sizable new market for their OS.

Their software was great, but their hardware sucked. I guess their biggest problem was always being the first out the door with a new console, only to be upstaged quickly by Nintendo or Sony.

I guess Apple's hardware problem is being second out the door with hardware, and it's not even as good as what's already available from the competitors :)

  14. TheSmJ
TheSmJ So now that you have the Mac OSX on your AMD64... what are you going to do with it? :p

"Oh, there's lots of games for the Mac. There's Warcraft 3.... and... Well, you know they're all great, because they've already been out for the PC for the past year."
  15. Jengo
Jengo this is awsome i cant wait to install it on a machine, i just want to see how fast it is. Im gonna try it on a P3 first, then on a P4, hopefully i can see at what kind of system specs youd need to run it.

    heh...

I cant wait! hurry up and finish Downloading!!
  16. Cyclonite
Cyclonite Got it running in VMWare. Be aware, though, that it's very sluggish running in VMWare.

Too sluggish, that I didn't even feel like changing the original username.
  17. GrayFox
GrayFox Mine was quite fast ... But then again I have my machine VERY tweeked.
  18. Cyclonite
Cyclonite Really? Hmm... My machine isn't insanely tweaked, but it is pretty snappy otherwise. I'm finishing up a reinstall right now. Maybe I'll give it a shot afterward.
  19. entropy
entropy Guys, any luck getting it the network to bridge with VMWare? I can't. I would really like to.

Oh, and mine's slightly slow, but I'm slowly crankin' her up. I think.
  20. TheHeartSmasher
