PS3… White Is The New Black

Bored with your black console? You can head over to E-Bay and bid on the worlds first and only White PS3 console.

It seems PS3center.net member Michal Birecki was one of those who camped outside a retail store, in the hopes of being one of the first to own a PS3 console with the intention of reselling it on E-bay, for a tidy profit.

When he noticed the units weren’t fetching much more than the full retail price on E-Bay of late, he decided to put a unique spin on his product, by spraying it white.

After seeing what happened to the Playstation 3 market on eBay, we quickly realized that we won’t get much for our black PS3. PCN then decided to put a little twist to their unit. We created the world’s first and only white Playstation 3. This is a full replica of Sony’s Prototype.

Sony released 3 colors for the Playstation 3, black, silver and white. At the moment, only the black Playstation 3 is available on the market.

My father owns a car dealership / body shop in Montreal, Canada, so I decided to put my bodyman skills to the test.

With the bid standing at just over $1500 at the time of this post and five days to go, this should be an interesting one to watch!!

29 Dec 2006 ~ 7:50pm Froggle Flip that does look very nice! I still prefer black and grey better since white will get dirty very easily and plus it's not the world's only white ps3 im sure sony has like 100 more. I think its useless to buy ps3's now there gonna drop like mad in a year.

Sony didn't make this one white, the article mentions they bought it black and had it painted.
