   5 Dec 2007 ~ 2:22am Leonardo Those are stunning! And to think, we almost wrote Hubble off, until engineers figured out how to repair it in space. I don't know how many of you remember, but that was quite an engineering and space flight challenge - the mission to repair Hubble.

   I frequent the US HubbleSite for new desktop pics and to read up on different new discovery's.
   In general to educate myself more on the subject of space and what's out there.
   It's a big wide world out there and sooo interesting to read about.

   5 Dec 2007 ~ 10:35am GHoosdum There's no doubt that Hubble has turned out some fantastic images in its day, but land-based telescopy coupled with computer interpolation to clean up the atmospheric degradation has turned out to be a much more cost effective rival. Hubble, at this point, is barely more than a "feel good" PR project for NASA these days.

   5 Dec 2007 ~ 10:50am RADA I'm looking forward to the launch of the James Webb Space telescope in 2013.
   
   It will be deployed a million miles from earth, and have 18 primary mirror segments that have a 6.6 meter diameter(Hubble's is 2.4 meters). the craft's sun shield we be as large as a tennis court.
   
   Should send back some astounding pictures.

   5 Dec 2007 ~ 1:15pm mas0n NASA's budget is a joke. Space exploration will move into the public market when there is a demand for it, but by then it will be too late.
