Trains to the rescue

Plans to fix US rail could end road and sky gridlock. I’ll believe it when I see it. (thx NiGHTS)

primesuspect Chicago in 45 minutes from Royal Oak FTW. We'd be going to Chi-town for beerz on Saturday nights.

Annes A decent rail system in America would make me one EXCEEDINGLY happy girl. Like OMG happy. As it stands now it still costs more and takes longer to take a train from Philly to Boston than it does to fly. Damn shame.

BuddyJ I've traveled from Kansas to Chicago and then across to PA via train and found it to be a great way to travel. Sadly, it's expensive and slow. I'd love to see a better rail system established here.

Leonardo Ever since I've been a boy, starting with the "Energy Crisis" in the mid-70's, some type of 'trains are the future of transportation' theme circulates. I quit paying attention the second or third time this went around.

When there is a real demand, it will happen. The truth is there's a lot of, 'oh that would nice' but not much demand.
