UPSLynx Yep, that's MONSTER alright. I'm an audiophile, and I sadly have to admit that I use a MONSTER brand digital coax cable for digital line out on my sound card to my 5.1 system. But, it's justified. It's a 8 foot cable, and I got it on sale at Radio Shack for $25. Seemed reasonable to me, so I bought it. Guess I got pretty lucky considering the chart showed that cable's wholesale price at $70...

Leonardo Yes, and not just supposed premium HD cables have such high markups. Look at the prices of almost any computer cable sold in computer or office stores - $15 for 6' USB, $5.95 for an IDE ribbon, $12.95 for a rounded IDE..... I would imagine markups on these items from manufacturer's cost to retail are up to 80% of the price. Some stores will sell a monitor for $300 and the not-included DVI cable can be as high as one-sixth the cost of the monitor!

But then, there's nothing wrong charging whatever people will pay. In my mind, the stores or manufacturers only cross the moral line when they purport superior performance for a product that is false or intentionally misleading.

BlackHawk FWIW, I use Monster cables in my car audio where it isn't digital and is susceptible to interference. Probably overrated but the regular cables around here kinda suck.
