RTFMNOOB No More

RTFMNOOB No More

The era of RTFMNOOB has come to an end. After more than a year of quizzical looks from New Yorkers, the plate is being retired, free to be claimed by the one other guy in the state who got the joke.

    WHY.
Because it's too expensive and I need to save money for future expenses like a house, wife, and kid(s).
Why throw away the best plate ever?
Because I enjoy crying myself to sleep at night.

I was going to keep them and mount them in a shadowbox, but the state is making me turn them in.
  9. Zuntar
Zuntar Um, I have never turned in a plate in any state, and never had a problem. I highly doubt they'll check.

oh now that is just crap. I know Mich doesn't make you turn in old plates, however I do not know about old personalized plates.

I wish I could get it here to carry on the tradition..alas we only get 7 characters on personalized plates, even though the new plates all have 8 on the "regular" ones. :shakehead  :bs:

    NiGHTS RTFMNUB won't suffice, Ryder?

New York ain't just any state. It's New York. It's the poster boy for evil.

    See above.

mmonnin Good thing you don't live in Va where you have to return your plates...F'ing retarded.

RWB I don't know the meaning of return... I have 3 modems from various ISP's whom have asked me to return them upon deactivating my accounts.... never heard anything from any of them :P Licence plates are a different story, I wasn't asked to return them and if I were they could have them as they are barely legible due to collisions with the ground from going off road to avoid traffic, my new ones are barely 6 months old and have already been broken in haha
  17. mmonnin
mmonnin I have an ISP modem as well and I essentially paid 5 bucks and change for it as I didnt get my overpayment back for not returning the modem.

But they want your license plates back if you leave the state. I still have my Ohio plates.

I have three sets of plates from VA. :ninja:

Yes they say you have to, but they won't / don't send a cop to your house and get them.:cool2:

Your not allowed to copy music either but most people don't follow that rule.

What EXACTLY are the penalties and time line for said return?

mmonnin Haha. I have no idea. I just know someone moved back to Boise and got Idaho plates. Va contacted them and wanted their plates back.
  22. yagga
yagga What's the renewal fee? Here there is a one time rip off of $100 for a new custom plate and renewals are the same price, $39.50 after taxes and clever "filing fees." It's probably a little higher if the car is only a couple years old.

Yeah, and only 7 figures in MN.
