3DMark Vantage
3DMark Vantage is Futuremark’s latest DX10 benchmark exclusively for Windows Vista. This is truly the next generation 3D benchmark.
We used the default ‘Performance’ setting preset, and the usual 1280×1024 resolution. 3DMark Vantage is comprised of numerous tests including full scale gaming, CPU and card feature tests. For the purposes of this review, we’ll be focusing on the CPU tests only.
We see a somewhat expected pattern in 3DMark Vantage, with each of the new respective processors fitting in roughly where they should be. The E8400, although faster clock per clock, loses out to the X3 720 in this multi-threaded benchmark.
The second CPU test definitely favors the Phenom II processors. We see an expected pattern, with the X3 720 outperforming the E8400 and the X4 810 outperforming the Q6600.
