Apple WWDC 2011 to clash with E3

Apple WWDC 2011 to clash with E3

WWDC vs E3

Yes, you read that right. Steve Jobs and Apple are planning to hold their annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on the same week as the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). This breaks from tradition, as for the last four years it has always been held the week after E3.

How this will affect the attendance for both conventions remains to be seen, as there is definitely some crossover in whom these conferences cater to. Considering that Apple often uses the WWDC to announce new hardware and software,  rumors are flying around that they actually may not announce any new hardware or software this June. However, since speculation around E3 is that consumers may get the first hands-on experience with the Sony NGP, and many rumors suggesting that Nintendo may allude to its next console, Apple has a lot to compete with for eyeballs and the frenzied pens of journalists.

If you were able to go to just one of the shows, which one would you go to? Is this Apple’s attempt to take over the gaming industry? Perhaps Apple will drop a nuclear bomb of gaming news and announce a new gaming console. Imagine the chaos.

Thrax I honestly don't think it'll be that big a deal. Game review sites don't really have anything to do with what goes on at WWDC, and vice versa for WWDC-happy people at E3.

Sure, there are some sites that overlap, but none that are likely to be unable to resolve potential issues.

WWDC sells out every year so that's not likely unless they made more room. ;)

Snarkasm Porn is for Android users, not Apple users. Steve said so.

Very little, it coincides with CES, which is over.

Mr. Jobs is a living god, who graciously chooses to stand among men and offer his glorious advice. His word is law, and we shall accept it with equal gratitude. Anything less... is heresy.

Bandrik Holy shit, Apple Water's already been released?! Where have the times gone?! I've been looking forward to this since the announcement of the iTank, the revolutionary new fish tank that lets your fish listen to all sorts of music, while having noise-blocking technology so people outside the tank don't have to listen to the fish music. So cool!

    OMG

I bet I could buy several bottles of Apple Water and use it in conjunction with my iTank!

GENIUS!! (that's an Apple thing too, you know!)

If it contains "literally twice as many hydrogen atoms as there are oxygen atoms" that would suggest the absence of dissolved oxygen, something aquarium fish tend to be picky about.

Who knows, maybe apple with release compatible fish with a labyrinth organ upgrade.
