In the end
In summary, I would say the Bose On-Ear TriPorts are well worth the money. I bought them for about $160 USD and they are unbelievably good, especially for the bass-head and the people who enjoy mellow genres like Rasta, Lounge and Jazz. They are probably not the best choice for Alternative, Metal, Rock and the typical Jpop song, but they handily outperformed the Sennheisers. At three times the price, the TriPorts better out-perform the Sennheiser.
I will also say that I like these a lot more than my Shure E2Cs, and they have a very comparable sound signature to the VModa Vibes. The biggest drawback of these phones is their price, which is probably too steep for many. We will also undoubtedly have the typical audiophile response that points out a better pair of cans for the price. I won’t comment much on that since I have not yet added another pair of headphones in this price range, though I plan to soon.
Bottom line
Again I cannot overly stress how much I enjoy these headphones. They are pricey, but offer qualities you can’t get anywhere else on the market. If you don’t want a neutral sound, have around a $200 budget, and enjoy deep bass, warm sounds, and comfortable wearing, these are definitely for you.
