Japanese toilet maker is now offering their digitally operated, customizable in-toilet bidet, called a ‘washlet’ in the US market to rave reviews.

The company sites cultural differences as the main reason for its current lack of momentum in the US market. Apparently everyone who does actually get one, converts several of their friends, but with the time it takes to become accustomed to bidet washing, and the expense of each device (from $200-5000), word-of-mouth is traveling slowly.

The company hopes that their new ad campaign ‘Clean is Happy‘ will help wash away some of the negative stigma.

CB Seriously check out that web-site... It's kind-of freaky.

If nothing else, check out the 'product info', and click on one of the models, and click the 'cleansing' button.

primesuspect You know, the ads intrigued me and keebs so much that we went on a web hunt and actually called a local supplier to get a quote. They are available right here in Warren - The high-end one is like $700, the low end is more like $300.

The curiosity is intense though - does it really work ... It seems so nice ;)

Sledgehammer70 I used a bidet a few times... after I got use to the cool water it was kind of nice :) some of the higher end one have temp controls that allow you to chose the temp of the water splashing on you :)

CB I like that the website compares the device to luxury bedding, and heated car-seats.
