Japanese toilet maker is now offering their digitally operated, customizable in-toilet bidet, called a ‘washlet’ in the US market to rave reviews.
The company sites cultural differences as the main reason for its current lack of momentum in the US market. Apparently everyone who does actually get one, converts several of their friends, but with the time it takes to become accustomed to bidet washing, and the expense of each device (from $200-5000), word-of-mouth is traveling slowly.
The company hopes that their new ad campaign ‘Clean is Happy‘ will help wash away some of the negative stigma.
