It is a commonly-held belief that Windows Vista’s UAC box is amongst the most annoying security measures in recent history. Even after giving the OS license to continue with a requested task, Vista will continue to prompt for that action time after time. It is evident that UAC’s inability to remember a user’s actions with the UAC prompt is more annoying than UAC itself. Luckily, Symantec’s Norton Labs is providing that choice retention Vista users crave.
Unassumingly titled the Norton UAC Tool, this nifty download will alter the UAC prompt to include a check box that will tell Vista never to prompt for that same action again. It’s 1.1MB of sanity, and you know you want it.
