Firefox addon of the day: Tab Mix Plus

Firefox addon of the day: Tab Mix Plus

There’s no denying that the success of Firefox was first build on its tabs. Sure, other browsers did it first, but none so well as the Mozilla Foundation’s charming little orange guy. Yet when I first switched to Firefox, I quickly grew irritated that the browser wouldn’t spawn a new tab from bookmarks or the address bar. Thankfully, Tab Mix Plus came to my rescue and sealed my conversion from IE6 in short order.

Tab Mix Plus revamps and greatly extends the operation of tabs in Firefox, and I recommend that it goes in the toolbox of any workflow-oriented or organization-conscious web user.

Kwitko My "can't live without" add-on. It also has a session restore feature.

CB I'm confused. I'm in Firefox, and if I middle-click on a bookmark or the 'go' button, it opens a new tab...

kryyst Yep middle clicking to open a new tab is nothing new. The big features with this pluggin are that you can lock a tab and if you click on a link in that window instead of opening the page in that window it opens a new tab, things like that.

Also the session restore is now part of FF3, in fact when you go to install this pluggin FF tells you as much.
