A little harsh there. IE8 is not bad at all. I prefer Firefox, which I run on all my home machines, but Microsoft is not sitting idle.

chrisWhite IE8 is their best yet and it's beginning to get good, I don't think it deserves the first place though when Chrome, Firefox and maybe the new Opera are all better then IE8. Right now the only thing it's clearly beating on the Windows side is Safari.

Thrax I predict that IE8 will become the new IE6 when the HTML5 & CSS3 specs are finalized and implemented by everyone but Microsoft.
  9. mirage
mirage I have nothing against MS and IE but all for establishment of and compliance to open standards. In that sense, this is good news.

ardichoke I hear web developers everywhere getting excited... I don't know if they will be able to contain their enthusiasm if IE ever drops below 50... They would finally have a good argument against supporting it.

"Hey, it's not standards compliant AND a majority of people no longer use it!"

Snarkasm Ah, but what if it still has a plurality? :p

I imagine it'll still be a while, though. Good times.
