    mirage I was thinking about the little Beowulf cluster with 18 single-core CPUs in 9 nodes we had built 6 years ago. It is aging fast now and motherboards started to fail one by one. Replacing the cluster with these 8-core Nehalems, we will have 32 cores in one node using a single quad-socket motherboard. The best of all, there will be only one Linux running for all that power. Maybe we can install a ping-pong table in the server room when we get rid of the 42U cabinet :)
