Today LG Electronics unveiled the LG Optimus 2X, the world’s first (according to the press release) dual-core smartphone. Armed with NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor, the Optimus 2X promises a faster, smoother Android experience.
Some of the key features of the new phone:
- 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor
- 4-inch WVGA screen
- 8GB onboard storage (up to 32GB via microSD)
- 1500 mAh battery
- 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera
- HDMI mirroring
- 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 playback and recording
An official US carrier hasn’t been announced yet, but one rumor points to T-Mobile’s subscribers as the lucky winners.
While nothing has been officially announced, it’s probably a safe bet that this phone will be on display at CES. If so, we’ll try to get a closer look (and maybe a hands-on experience) while there.
