Microsoft releases Vista update bundles

CB Sould we be expecting another article telling us if Vista is ready yet?
  2. Thrax
Thrax I don't know. I'll revisit my article after SP1, if that's what you're referring to.
  3. primesuspect
primesuspect The most important fix I've found is that file copy/move speed is GREATLY increased o.O

mtrox Interesting news Prime, I've seen that one. But I'm still trying to figure out how to do a ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew on the damn thing.
  5. Sledgehammer70
Sledgehammer70 I have heard memory management is vastly improved and Vista now only takes 5% more than Norton :)

Solitare is only a 1 gig process....but you have to click "confirm" and "yes" after you move every stack of cards.
  8. Sledgehammer70
    Sledgehammer70 I would say 1.5GB min....

Qeldroma Getting caught up a little but-

Maybe a couple of article ideas are in order if SP 1 does't pan out:

"Vista: The best thing that ever happened to Linux and Mac-OS"

    or maybe

"Why did I pay $400US to hack Vista to run like XP?"

Or, we could just fake it and write the article(s) now. Make up all kinds of outrageous stuff. Put in weird and vague references to "invisible, private sources in Redmond," and of course, some jacked up screenshots (possibly a graphic of File Manager from Windows 3.11?) :D

We would definitely get attention, and probably LOTS of it. Of course, the backfire a few days later might blow us off our wheels.

Redmond? Really! Why yes, Mr. Arstechnica Anand! Our very slippery sources in Redmond, Arkansas. :D
  11. Thelemech
Thelemech Vista should have been service pack 3 for XP.
  12. Sledgehammer70
Sledgehammer70 Well I installed the updates and did notice much better response time in file transfers... If anythign else was fixed I haven't seen it or noticed it.
