One Boner Per Child

One Boner Per Child

Reuters is reporting that, shockingly, the children of Nigeria have put their inexpensive and high tech laptops to nefarious uses. Apparently it has been discovered that pornographic websites have been visited by users of the laptops. A representative of the OLPC initiative has stated that filters will now be installed on all the laptops.

First clean water, then malaria vaccinations, and now Jenna Jameson! What will they think of next?

airbornflght They need to limit how many emails those things can send per day... let the little bastards look at porn if it keeps them from trying to offer me uncle richie's family fortune to me as long as I send a thousand to them first.

primesuspect I really doubt that the OLPC laptops are what the Nigerian scam artists are using....

Thrax You never know. Millions of inexpensive PCs that can easily be harnessed into a massive botnet? Easy pickins.
  6. primesuspect
primesuspect I doubt they could easily be harvested into a botnet seeing as they run proprietary OSes.
  7. the_technocrat
    the_technocrat don't need a high-end laptop to control a botnet...

They run crippled linux. The user can't even ever become root.

They would have to drop down to the command line and run a script to install the virus (Most linux virus's arn't just a simple ./whatever) and then the virus would just be stuck in userland.

mtrox This would only be news if they hadn't surfed porn with the laptops.
