Something peculiar going on in Team Fortress 2

In an update to Team Fortress 2 on July 18th, a few eagle-eyed members of the community made a discovery–rockets had apparently crash-landed in several official TF2 maps. 2Fort, Barnblitz, and Badwater are the current locations of what are being dubbed “Grockets” (a nod to critical rockets and the G-Man of Half Life fame) and are causing all kinds of speculation.

It’s still too early to tell what they mean, but the Steam Forums are filled with some entertaining conspiracy theories about where the Pyro is from, why the Combine might be shelling 2fort, the odd choice of Barnblitz and many others. Hopefully, we get some answers soon.

SpencerForHire As long as they don't implement something silly like hats I think we're fine.

_k This borked the soldier animations and weapon switches, on some servers, last night. Caution! Though the death animation from the laser cannon is trippy.

BobbyDigi This turns out to be a crossover with Weta Workshop's Dr Grordbort.
