Sprint: Android 2.1 for HTC Hero and Samsung Moment in 2Q10

Sprint has announced today via its official Twitter page that the HTC Hero and the Samsung Moment will be receiving an upgrade to Android 2.1 in the second quarter of 2010. No further information is available at this time.

    They've got one on the way, but it's loaded with crippleware/has a lot of base Android stuff removed.

    Though, rooting it and putting a decent load/mod on it should make it a thoroughly capable phone.

    At this rate, AT&T should have a non-crippled Android-based phone when the 100G spec is finalized. In other words, never.

    As long as they have iPhone exclusivity, AT&T will be pimping it as their flagship device.

    Only once the iPhone starts going to other providers will AT&T start really trying to push out a quality device that doesn't have an apple logo on it.
