Bowling!

It's a Bowling League theme, and that means we're selling limited edition Icrontic Bowling shirts. They will be dark blue + black with white embroidery. The Icrontic logo will be on the sleeve, and your name in deliciously tacky script on the opposite breast. The cost is $45 and the order form IS ONLINE NOW. THOSE sales will end separately in 2 weeks on June 6.

Saturday's marquee event will be bowling nearby at The Majestic. We'll play 2 games and grab food there too. It does have a full bar as well.

Communism

Icrontic Communism is back!

Our ticket price this year is the standard $100, and there is a "+1" ticket for $165 to subsidize someone else's ticket.

• There is a $35 Discount ticket if you need it.
• You can choose the "Communism" option for a $5 bagel pass.
• You can PM me for a $5 Communist Pedal Pub ticket (outside the Eventbrite workflow - I can't limit the ticket count correctly if I do it in there).
• There are no Communist options for alcohol-related addons (pls) or the high ropes course ($$$).

Lastly, the "Sponsor" level ticket covers general admission, 1 subsidy, 1 month of hosting, and contributes to a modest event equipment upgrade.

We will accept orders until noon on Wednesday, June 6 (ET). Everyone gets the standard 2018 Expo t-shirt with the event logo on it as usual. This is a separate, extra shirt that we're doing as a 1-time offer to match this year's theme.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer SMALL shirts due to a shortage at our shirt provider. Hey, you're supposed to have baggy bowling shirts anyway!

On the Expo 2018 ticket form you will find a "Pedal Pub" adventure. There was confusion about that last year, so I wanted to tell you more about it this year because I think it'll be a great activity for everyone.

We're renting two of these:

What are we doing on these things?

Touring downtown Detroit! We'll make a few stops to rest and do sightseeing. At this time, we're leaning towards visiting downtown landmarks (much like last year but with different stops). It is unlikely we will be stopping at bars (it's possible we'd combine a bar + landmark stop).

How long & how much?

It's a 2-hour ride and it's $20. We're be leaving the house at 4:15pm and returning at 7:30pm.

Nicole & Aaron will be our drivers (they both work there now!) so we've gotten a discount. If we fill both bikes (30 participants) there will be a $5 refund. Expo communism is available for this event.

Is there drinking?

You may. We're going around 5pm this year and the bikes are BYOB, but no glass is allowed. We can bring cans of beer/cider and our own cooler. One person can stand in the middle of each bike as a bartender (spoilers: I am bartending Aaron's bike). This needs to be coordinated WELL in advance - no trying to stop at the beer store on the way downtown, please.

You must be seated on the bike to have an open container. This is an extremely public event so please limit alcohol consumption and be responsible.

How many people can a pedal pub hold?

12 pedaling (6 per side)
3 non-pedal passengers (bench on back)
1 bartender

Do I have to pedal the entire time?

Nope! The pedals are asynchronous so you can pedal as you're able and rest as needed (the pedals won't forcibly spin or anything). If you need a bench seat in order to participate, just let me know ahead of time.

Oh man, literally killed a BA Old Rasputin this weekend. And I have a bottle of Black Ops and a Flying Buffalo in my basement right now.

After conferring with some frequent attendees, this was the consensus winner.

In October 2010, the first Icrontic beer tasting was held, and at the time it was an experience that had never been had by many folks. Palates were forged that day, learning was had, beer was drank and food was ate.

We've had a number of blind and structured tastings since then, but we have never revisited a theme. Until now.
