    athlon xp 1900+ (OC)
    512mb ram
    80gb HD WD
    R9200 (OC}

is this good enough to run D3?

    (OC)=overclocked

    It'll run, jester.

Jester..we cannot answer your question unless you tell us your video card, because the entire game rests on your video card.

I have a question, I have a 9700 ati pro, only 1.6 ghz, but 1536 mb of ram, will the excess of RAM make up for the videocard and processor?

Jake, is your 1.6 GHz CPU an AMD or an Intel?

    From the third post :)
    Low-End:
    1.5GhzP4 or equivalent
    512MB Ram
    Geforce4 Ti 4800 or Radeon 9500

The memory will help but not make up for the slower CPU. However, it should run respectably :)

    Intel

    thanks shorty

    Ghoosdum, i have intel

    Ghoosdum, i have intel

yeah you'll be good with the intel. i think the reason he was asking is because a 1.6 amd is the equivalent of a 1.8 or 1.9 p4

I have a pretty good system.
    p4 3.0ghz
    intel d865gbf mobo w/ 800mhz fsb
    1gig samsung pc3200 dual channel
    Creative SB Live! 5.1
    19" Viewsonic F90+ flat crt
eVGA Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 256mb.
Will this card run the game pretty well or should I upgrade. I don't really have the money right now(or in the near future) to buy a X800 XT/Pro. But I could probably get a 256mb 9800 pro. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

it makes more sense to wait for the game to come out, see how it runs, and upgrade if necessary than it does to throw money at a problem you're not even sure that you'll have.

    Hey guys!!
I'm sure this question has been asked over and over, but I would like to know your opinions. Anyway, do you guys think my comp will be able to run D3 well? Here's my comp specs.

    P42.66ghz
    512ram
    128mb Ati Radeon 9700tx

So, what do you think? Will the game run pretty good? Thanks. :)

it should run great at 1024X768 or 1280X10XX, medium detail. I'm gonna guess and say still will run, tho with some chugging, at high detail. Might run 1600X1200 at lower detail, not sure how smooth but again guessing playable.

    9700tx?

There was no 9700tx. Just the 9700 Pro and 9700.

    He obviously means 9600 XT.

    Or he could mean 9800XT.

I have a Dell Dimension 4550. It came stock with an Ati Radeon 9700tx. I think it's just a 9700 only with the added tx for dell. :)

I remember seeing a 9700tx before. I think it was in a german PC. Its just a 9700.
  • edited July 2004
Yeah, the 9700tx is just a 9700. Either way, as long as it can run D3 well, I'll be happy. :)

Can't see a problem with that spec :)

Everbody here is talking about Radeon and I "heard" from several sources, including short-media.com, that the Nvidia 6800 runs Doom 3 much better than the Radeon X800.

Yep :) but most of the people here have ATi cards it appears ;D

That's the way it works, nVidia have some catching up to do.. looks like they are doing it ;)

Just in Doom3. HL2 is still going to be ATI's golden child. If it ever comes out.

You guys think it will run on a:

    p4 2ghz
    512mb ram
    geforce fx 5600 256mb
    sb audigy gamer w/5.1 speakers

wanna get all the effects possible without the choppiness.

It'll run decently at medium detail settings.

Hi, guys, my PC is an XP2600+ (Barton), 512MB DDR400 & GF2 GTS 64MB DDR.
I was wondering if D3 will run on this card? I know, slow and all,I just wanna know if it will run or it'll refuse to run.
Actually, my GF2 GTS is faster than a GF4 MX440, and official specs say that it will run on a GF4 MX...
    thanks.
