I can tell you right now that the network here doesn't act like that. I wish it did, but pings in gaming hop from 20-235 all the time. Very frustrating.
Grrr. I just signed up for Ultra-High speed because I was sick of the slow REGULAR broadband. THis is horrible. I am not sure how much I pay, but it is WAY too much.FWIW the connection icon in my tray says "10Mbps"...more like 10 Mb per year.

Wow not bad... Cable will ALWAYS suffer on upload speeds My family has recently combined to now ONE dsl and ONE phone line. In June or July can't remember which one, we'll be upgrading to the AT&T DSL Pro for double the speed, and only $3/mo. more!

Lame. I have Charter, and we pay for 3.2, but never ever get it. I know it's a Saturday night, but it could be a Sunday night at 2 am and we rarely get higher. I keep crossing my fingers that Charter will finally lose so much they'll go bankrupt.
Everyone else across the country is getting upgraded to 4, 5, even 6 mbps downspeed, FOR FREE. Charter usually keeps us the same and INCREASES the price. I hate those ****ers.
We pay almost $50/month, too, and that's after the cable TV discount. LAME LAME LAME. The only other option is DSL, and that's miserable as well around here.

You're not the only one. We have Comcast "High Speed". and every month for the last 2 or 3 months, they've went up $5 for the internet, without increasing speed. They promise us 3M (business) and we're gettin...... hold your breath......
1M!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! Okay so it does good on the tests, but I NEVER get theses speeds in downloading, gaming, or anything else other than surfing the World Wide Web :headbange . Also, we rarely get any service on weekends cauz I have to call them and yell at the dum@$$ reps for not fixing a thing when something goes wrong. Our total bill is $240 or so (keep in mind this is a business, and we're getting cable included with this for about 40 TVs.

I'm not too sure about the Wisconsin market, but Charter has 5Mb/512Kb and 10Mb/1Mb service now in some areas now. 5Mb runs about 60 bucks (50 bucks if you have Charter CATV) and 10Mb runs about 75-80 bucks...don't think there's a CATV discount on that one. May want to ask your local office and see if those are available or contact tech support. Tech support guys can upgrade you.
Hey, I did a speed test on my schools network since I am working their durring the summer, it is amazing how fast it is when no one is using it:D

I'm guessing they have a symetrical connection, but not sure what, t1 would only be 1.54 MB/s both ways, not 2MB/s Although, the techs told me they have a 100MB/s pipe running in, so I am probably QoS'd.

Bellsouth DSL XTREME 6.0 or something like that... I dunno how much it costs, my parents pay it.
That's kinda best case scenario. Everyone that would be playing MMORPG's and FPS and surfing the net is either sleeping or not here right now. We never lag though, no matter how much goes on at once. I love it.

damn, my cox cable only gives me 500KB/s.
Cox Cable says that I am supposed to get 4mb, well, I only can pull 3.1 now on a good day, so I am only really getting 387KB/s down, horrible.
