Xbox live is by far the best online gaming network. Very organized, and extremely easy to use. I love being able to communicate with friends so easily and know what exactly they're doing on their 360.
Be careful and make sure it stays cool. I lost my first 360 this week and got it replaced. Couldn't save my DOA4 or FM2 data though, they wouldn't copy onto a memory card at my friends. Got it replaced and actually got money back (got to love Costco) and I got the improved one with the HDMI output.

jhenry, I think erich will be OK. The new 360's supposedly are with the 65nm CPUs and improved components cooling. Microsoft did indeed get hurt pretty badly on the first series of 360, but they did make good and redesigned the internals for cooler operation.
Unless you're talking about a non-RRoD breaking issue, it was a combination of the heat from your GPU and CPU warping the mobo and screwing up some contacts. Between the smaller CPU and better heatsink design and usage, those problems are fixed.
You do realize that if you only have 3 USB ports, you're actually getting shorted one from regular xboxes? My 360 has two on the front and two on the back for four USB ports.

Yeah, that's true. But he gets a HDMI socket, the argument there would be "Is it worth swapping a USB for HDMI?"

That's like saying the Spanish Inquisition was the best detective agency because they took the most from the person. Last week, Xbox live servers came back up after a two-month downtime in dallas. Not that I care, I've got a wii. I'm too busy playing SNES games to care.

I agree, that was pretty bad.. Being as big as they are you would think they would have prepared for something like that..
It wouldn't be so bad if they just reimbursed those who lost those two months since you can only cancel your gold subscription from the damn live system...
My original 360 overheated and the CD drive died...when I finally got the replacement back I think it runs slower.... it's very odd... the Xbox system is great online and solo (haven't gotten my hnds on a PS3 yet so can't make a comparison) but one thing for sure the customer service for it is L O U LOUSY! IF nothing goes wrong you're golden but man if something breaks it is a nightmare getting a hold of people and getting it out and back....ugh
Oh that's nothing... when my drive broke here's how the conversation went (I am summarizing cause it litteraly took 7 minutes...I timed it)
Me: "My Xbox CD drive won't open or read the CD in it. All the lights work when I reboot the system except the main power icon light blinks rapidly but is green"
Bob: "Ah....I see.....so how many lights are there in the ring?"
Me: "None...only the power icon light is green and blinking rapidly"
Bob: "Ah...ok...are there any red lights in the ring?"
Me: "No red lights.. there are no lights on in the ring only the power icon in the center is green and blinking rapidly"
Bob: "Ok... well....are there any red blinking lights in the ring?"
Me: "Nooooooooo only the power light in the center is on which is blinking rapidly"
etc etc...for 7 minutes... spent 7 minutes trying to get the guy from wherever to understand that there weren't any lights in the ring... only the center power icon light was on....
the conversation took so long I got frustrated then pissed then amused at how tragically difficult it was.. it really was funny...

i dont know. i just really hate them. it seems a bit simple and complicated at the same time, and not user-friendly. what i mean by this is, its simple enough for an 8 year old to be great at it, but still have to engage their brain a bit. i like the ps2 and ps3 a bit more than Xbox if i have to say id pick any of them.

It was out of warrenty so I went and bought a new drive only which cost a lot less than paying for a brand new console.
Feel free to add me to Live and we could hook up and play! My gamertag is FelixDeSouze

Friend: I'd like to get a replacement for my Xbox 360 Elite
Microsoft: Which xbox console would you like a replacement for? Classic or 360?
Says it all really
EDIT: Good looking console, nice one

Hahaha :P Callcenters are hilarious
HAraduth: yeah it was in fact hilarious...by the time the entire conversation was over I was actually uncontrollably chuckling
"Hello, I'd like to order a large pepperoni and cheese wedding cake with extra bride"
"Does have any lights?"
"NO IT'S A GODDAMN CAKE!"
Or just continue with however the conversation turns out
Just for sick curiosity's sake...... why?
