Travian: "Diplomacy" as they call it...

I figured we needed a central thread for diplomacy and it's counterpart: all out alliance attack with built-in "WAHHHHHHHH!!!!1!".

Firstly, here's a quick rundown of the current situation:

• At the moment we are aligned with the "PANTHER" alliance (and it's wings) because of Felix's links with 'em.
• We also have an agreement with OAA, which is a members personal alliance that we will support.
• We also have a rather strange NAP with anyone with a town called "Firestation.." - Basically both me and Q have had run-ins with this collection of people (different members respectively), and it transpires they are off-duty firemen, "de-stressing". I figured they need all the friends they can get (especially being an ex-Firemans son ), and so as a show of respect, they made it onto our profile.

That's all the official ones for now. Personal Alliances are fine by me (I have one), as long as they don't get in the way of anything else

Secondly, I'd like this thread to play host to discussions on offers received by me (or other members), regarding inter-alliance relations, at both ends of the spectrum.

I'll kick it off with this, which I received today from "SuperLeeds":

"we are interested in becoming allies with you. we are looking to become allies with some top people and think it could be beneficial to both of us if we were to become allies. message back whether or not you want to."

What you all think ? From my perspective, It could lead to a lot of other friendships - but that has problems in itself... Their not particularly powerful and they may just be "name hunting" for another one on their list

First, OAA is probably irrelevant. I mean, I'd help them, but they don't look like they're doing anything.

I'm interested in strategic alliances rather than ones for the fun of it. Why ally with SuperLeeds other than that they asked? I'm interested in gaining alliance members, not as much with allying/NAPing with everyone like so many seem to be doing.

If another big player is by our powebase(s) and both parties don't want to waste resources against the other, that's a good NAP/alliance situation. Joe Schmoe's alliance, who couldn't attack us anyway, isn't going to help and will hinder us if we can't farm them.

JatoUK, Fear... those are fairly good alliances. Broady and I have tried. I am finally be granted access to Jato leaders... hopefully we'll be aligned with a great coalition.

Honestly, I'm not that worried about it right now. The likelihood of them actually helping us is minimal. I'm more interested in making us an unappetizing target.

Maybe as we start to get bigger we will attract the attention of bigger "meta" alliances ? It's not really that much of a worry, I don't think I've found a "At War With:" that is actually populated in anyone's profile...

Just had another request off "PC-V" from "O.R.D.E":

I just wanted to know that does your alliance interest to make ally with us?

I know I have had a lot of trouble with these guys, he tried "buying" my town, but I managed to resolve it peacefully with them (A bit of polite messaging never goes too far ) There isn't many of them, but I think they are substantially powerful. They also have some nice personal alliances (draggs, fourstar)

There are some from O.R.D.E in my 7v7. He's got a couple villages methinks.

Not that much:) (Note: I asked him if he got attacked much because he claimed he was aggressive earlier) Because my friend in the real world mattuu(who live together with us...I just found he is in your alliance...) belongs to your alliance and now wanted to join my alliance. So I think ally with your alliance will make it safely for him and his old town.:) And you know that we have a defense system which include 10k troops here. If you ally with us. That system could help you as well:)

Go ahead and invite them. It may not have tons benefit but it it brings a few heavy hitters closer to our side and not attacking us.

vampire0x took an oasis from Beachhead (I'd withdrawn my defensive troops to send elsewhere). He's in the [M]Omat2 alliance, but their powerbase is in another quadrant, as are most of their large players. Only one of his villages is near me, and it has 1,000 Legionnaire and a hero. That seems to have made him feel pretty self-assured.

He neglected to scout me before doing this. I'm not sure what made him think he could.

I'm moving my hero to Beachhead. You can guess what happens from there

Just a heads up that the [M]Omat2 may not be exactly tickled pink about me by this evening.

//edit: Since I'm waiting on my hero, it looks like I have time to build 10 more fire catapults in the meantime.
//edit2: And raid some more people... and build another hundred Imperians...
//edit3: I've decided my goal: I'm going to flatten his Hero's Mansion so he doesn't do this again.

Everyone should keep and eye on the alliance's "Attacks" list to see what's happening day-to-day.

Mellet, near the powerbase, just scouted one of my oases. His single scout died. Let's see if he notices my 50 scouts coming to say hi.

I raided sigurd (NWM Alliance)... I took a great deal of stuff. Then ertnec scouted my village. I looked him up... Rank 955 with 8 villages... UH OH...

As for the attack logs... I monitor then fairly closely.

I messaged muggle as well. I'd like to be the primary contact with Panther whenever possible; my second village is smack in the center of their powerbase, so I would likely be severely crippled if we aren't allied with them.

I'm going to contact SUAL regarding an alliance; I helped the founder out last week with reinforcements, so I'm hoping that will work as an "in". We could use a second large friend, especially with this bit of a scare from Panther.
