    You would?
Yeah, well, I don't bet, but if I did I'd be willing to wager $27.84!

Windows Startup entry has GOT to go - I would bet $525 that it's either a virus or spyware.

    Oh, c'mon. It's just a funny. :)

It's like brail on the keys @ the drive-up ATMs that you mentioned.

Also, you know the bumps on the road the are there to warn you about going off into the next lane? Well, really it's road brail for all the blind drivers. Since they can't see the lanes they need something they can feel to let them know they're going out of the lane.

try the AV software from grisoft. i used it the other day on a pc that was getting pop-ups. i ran spybot, ad-aware and norton multiple times on that thing and none of those ever found the cause. grisoft found a trojan horse virus and no more pop-ups.

Don't get prof going on this subject. He and Prime will rant about this for hours.

I have most useful programs on that page. I end up using loads whenever I set up a new machine too, more useful than I thought :)

NS is right - it isn't part of Win2K, you need to get it seperately.

I had a thing called LOP something.
That took over the whole machine.
You couldn't even browse the internet.
It had changed the machines domain.

I think I ended up with Format C:

Next time, try deleting in safe mode. Often safe mode will allow you to tamper with system files when full windows will not. (You probably already knew that.)

Find out where the file sits, delete it from the registry, reboot to the command console and delete it from the command line without booting back into windows. You're missing part of it somewhere and its backing itself up from registry to file and vice versa.

Well I went on Google and found a link to this thread. I wonder if it will help you. This other link might also help. Looks like a virus called WORM_AGOBOT.DK.

//EDIT: I gotta read posts closer. "g" posted the same thing.

Log off and log back on if your think its gone. Most are rundll entries in the reg that pop back in once you log back on. Surprise... I'mmmmmmmmmmmmmm BACK.

try regcleaner and regcrawler to screw with registry stuff rather then regedit.

the porn sites are notorious for jacking with you and the home and search pages.... I take delight now in kicking their ass.....and since I started using admuncher as a popup/add blocker I have almost no probs with that crap.

use task manager to watch carefully whats running.....
