True, Gnome - usually it's a matter of who's shown most dedication to the team, and fits the qualifications, such as dedicated internet connection, port on a hub, KVM switch, etc.
GnomeWizardd had this to say this is NOT a competition of who has been here the longest! It is infact whomever the voting committe feels is the best person for the Job!
I think you will fail to find a time that I said it was. I simply inquired as to when Mat and Bud joined us.
Fair enough. Couldn't tell from the reply. Rhetorical is when an answer is not expected, where as what you said wasn't a question and therefore couldn't have actually been answered, therefore making it neither rhetorical or a question. It was just basically a statement.
General Keebler had this to say Current List:
GnomeWizardd
Bud
Madmat
Pseudonym
um...ok I guess no one noticed my post?...
FatCat had this to say like to throw my name in the hat. I can run 24/7 and have no problem signing a contract. I meet all the requirements, and hell, come Janurary I'll have been folding for 2yrs now...even got a Project 106 under muh belt

Indeed. Criteria that we the SMX candidate selection committee consider are both subjective and objective:
Dedication to the Short-Media Folding@Home Team
Material contributions to the Short-Media Forums in general
Longevity with the Team and with the Forums (indicator of
potential loyalty)
Perceived proficiency with computer hardware and software
Positive attitude (or lack thereof)
Required criteria - as mentioned in the post presented by Thrax
The list goes on. The committee is not infallible; but we are senior members in loyalty and leadership and usually arrive at good decisions after very carefull considerations, and sometimes deliberations.

I was wondering when leo was gonna get in this!
Right. I've been out of town about half the time over the past two months. I care as much as I ever have; just have had precious little opportunity to be active here.
SM20 not stable yet. A new motherboard and some RAM will be sent out shortly.
Keep your panties on guys. SM21 will not happen w/o a contract. And after that another one will not be built until we get contracts back from all the other hosts. And right now I cannot get ahold of Film down in florida for anything.

Boy I hope that I haven't been a source of controversy with the bit of off luck concerning SM20.

No, not at all, 'g', but we certainly want to make sure you're in good working condition before we go forward. No sense in having incomplete machines out there.
gtghm, I'll be packaging up my old KG7-R board to send it to you shortly. I just got back from the rig last night and I've had to take care of some stuff earlier today. Mr. Kwitko will be sending you some ddr for the board so that you can get SM20 up and running. The KG7 board was working just fine when I took it out of service a few months ago when I upgraded my daughter's rig to the Chaintech dually board and I reused my registered ddr on her rig. The KG7 doesn't require registered ddr unless you are populating more than 2 ram slots with memory, so running 1 stick of unbuffered ddr won't be any problem.
I'm not against a contract or anything, but for it to hold up, the person who signs it must be 18 or older. Is there a provision for the younger members of the team to have their parents sign, or are we instating an age limit on the hosts?
Also, whoever is drawing this thing up should have it checked by someone with a legal background to make sure it will hold up in court. I guess the team should also start a legal defense fund incase someone wants to go to court over hosting the system... After all, if this is going to become a legal issue instead of just based on trust, we can't make hollow threats. The team better be willing to enforce the rules and policies it is instating.
I guess all I'm asking is that if it's going to be done, please do it right.

No onborad, video or nic if I remember correctly.
If you read this thread here, you will see that a cap on that board was messed up and gtghm couldn't get it working right.
"g", right on the KG7, no oboard video or nic.
