It's fun to build and we could just build a binary to decimal converter on the output. It only takes up an area about 3'x6' in real life with packaged IC's. So I mean if we wouldn't need more than a couple hundred blocks in the game
I estimate I used 26,300 pieces of redstone in an area about 100m by 150m. Every digit was constructed to fit within a 16m wide section so it is easily scalable. I could expand it to use more digits, but I'm happy just to have it working now.
Numbers are input with a simple number pad. On the far left there's a selector for top/bottom row with a row reset button to its immediate right. As numbers are entered, all digits on the selected row are shifted left and the new one is added to the farthest right entry.
