4 weeks of exploring, collecting, combining, and planning, and I finally have my first pixel art on the IC Minecraft server:
This thing is frigging huge:
I didn't realize how large it was until I had almost completed the building and looked down around me:
Pixel art is hard. I had to trek wide to find the blue dye, and to make those 128 blocks of magenta it required 1 blue, 1 white, 1 red, and 1 pink just to make one magenta. Painful.
I used this image as my reference:
Put it into photoshop, I approximated a block size based on how large I felt I wanted it, then built a grid to put over the image. I sampled nearby colors underneath the grid to fill in the blocks, so I could determine which dyed wool blocks needed to go where. Frigging hard, but totally worth it.
Tired of searching for all that gold to power rail? Just use redstone and wood powered monorails!

Too loud?
And if it isn't already, I intend to make it.
