I like this one. I do not like this one (No offense, just not my style). I know it sounds cheesy, but I actually really love the Shinola design aesthetic as well. I think I definitely prefer Arabic numerals. I do not like metal bands. I don't like industrial/military looking as much.
Every mushroom brand is on my "avoid" list if you're not willing to muck around with potential disaster. When it comes to these $40 watches, you buy the seller, not the brand.
So I discovered over the weekend that I am allergic (giant watch shaped rash/hive on my wrist) to something in that last watch I bought :/ . I've had this happen before with a full stainless steel watch and band. From some reading, it is most likely due to the nickel in the steel. I'm doing a little test today to verify.
So I guess Vostok has non-divers!? This is delicious, and the band looks like it won't rip every hair off your body if it gets within 10 meters, unlike the cheaper Amphibias.
Sonofabitch I hate this thread. Fiancee gets me one of the Fossils that I've been lusting after for a while and you all post all sorts of other watches I find sexy as hell.
Well either I'm dumb and can't into watch, or my gamble failed; this Jaragar does not keep time, and from what I can understand, the hands are "misaligned" for lack of a better term.
For example, I cannot get the minute hand to land on 12 for any particular hour. If it's 7:00, for example, the minute hand will be on 12, and the hour hand will be sort of half way between 7 and 8. For 12:00 on the dot, the hour hand lands almost at 1pm. The minute and second hands seem fine, but the hour hand is off so much that it loses almost three hours overnight, even though the minutes are on the spot.
I mean, I realize I can do that. I'm looking more for alternative advice; like, is this something I'm doing wrong? Is this something I can fix myself? Is it worth handing over to the watch repair guys here at work to look at? Obviously, I realize I can contact the seller and attempt a refund...
It's possible that the hands weren't installed when the geartrain was precisely at the 12:00 position. This can cause the hands to tell the incorrect time at any time.

Even better, it was $3 cheaper ($19 vs $22).

Feast your eyes on this Sarpaneva (Finland) and its moon phase. Somewhere I read they only made 20.
