Can anyone recommend me some good metal bands?

    I like the following:

    -Power metal (Mostly modern stuff)
    -Death Metal (Usually melodic)
    -Metalcore

If there's anything else you would like to recommend, just remember that I like things melodic if the vocals are very heavy.

    Thanks!

I'll get the must haves out of the way if you like Death and Melodic metal

    As I Lay Dying
    In Flames
    Unearth
    Lamb of God

Then for really melodic check out Opeth.

    Thanks! Ill look into those.

Opeth is something I just recently looked into. I'm pretty satisfied with what I heard.. but I haven't had the time to listen in depth yet.

    Happy listening

For As I Lay Dying I recommend starting with their 2 newest and working your way backwards. Their older stuff is pretty raw sounding and they've had several band member changes. Their current line up is by far the best and they've really narrowed in on their sound.

In Flames has gone the opposite. They started it much more melodic then they currently sound. So for them start with their older stuff and work your way forward.

Lamb Of God, they just rock.

Definitely get into Opeth. They're one of my favorite bands. Blackwater Park is required listening, and their newest, Watershed, is also awesome.

Sit down with headphones and go through Blackwater Park. You'll love it.

Amon Amarth is another good one if you're into heavier norse death metal.

Look into MESHUGGAH as well. Pretty good power metal, Bleed album is good.

And again, In Flames and Bodem are awesome.
