Mr Jobs vowed to resist such pressure, after revealing that music firms were pushing for higher prices on Apple's iTunes internet music store.

Mozilla 'is in much better shape' than Microsoft when it comes to fixing security problems, claims the organisation
Mozilla has reacted to a Symantec report issued on Monday which said serious vulnerabilities were being found in Mozilla's browsers faster than in Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The study was conducted over the first six months of 2005.

Malicious hackers are turning their attention to the technology behind net phone calls, says a report.
The biannual Symantec Threat Report identified Voice over IP (Voip) systems as a technology starting to interest hi-tech criminals.
The report predicted that within 18 months, Voip will start to be used as a "significant" attack vector.
As well as prompting new attacks, Voip could also resurrect some old hacking techniques, warned the report.

US bank Wells Fargo has entered the world of online role-playing in an effort to teach young people the basics of managing their money.
In the bank's Stagecoach Island game, players explore an imaginary world using virtual money, which they earn by answering financial questions.

TV delivered into living rooms over broadband connections will completely change TV as well as the internet as we know it, concludes a major report.
IPTV (internet protocol TV), as it is known, is a budding area that is exciting telecoms and media companies.
Within a decade, says the report from Lovelace Consulting and informitv, TV delivered to sets over the net will be an established way to receive content.
TV will be much more web-like, with millions of shows to download.

The teenager who reportedly hacked into the mobile phone of socialite Paris Hilton has been sent to jail.
The hacker, who cannot be named because of his age, will serve an 11-month sentence in a juvenile jail.

Microsoft's next generation Xbox 360 games console will be in US shops on 22 November, the company has announced.
The software giant is set to be the first of the console makers to release a next generation machine.
Once launched in the US, the Xbox 360 is due to be in stores in Japan and Europe in early December. Up to 20 games will be ready at the launch.
The move could give it a vital edge over rival Sony which plans to release its PlayStation 3 in spring 2006.
