Save memory! Idle your tabs

firefox Today’s stupendous Firefox addon is called TooManyTabs and boasts the swank ability to put user-specified tabs into an idle state. Tabs that have been idled no longer take residence in system memory and free those precious megs for other tasks. Any tab brought up from its sleepy slumber will be restored with all the hot state and history action it was suspended with.

22 Dec 2008 ~ 7:12pm Leonardo I've never bothered to compare memory utilization with multiple tabs opened versus not. Does it really make much of a difference on a computer with 2 or 4GB RAM? (On my anemic laptop....that's another matter!)
