Had some Cruzan dark rum last night. It was pretty tasty. It was rather smooth straight, almost not enough bite for rum in my opinion...

Then settled for jack and coke.

just got home from a wine festival, full of local wines and Limoncello iced teas... moving on to a bottle of Sophia Coppola champagne mixed with either Baerenjager or cassis liquer.

My drink of choice would have to be cranberry and vodka on the rocks.

    Bombay Sapphire tonight.

    It is gooooood.

Though not quite Citadelle. CItadelle takes the cake in the gin category for me.

had quite a few different drinks at the wedding this weekend.

Tried a Sam Adams Summer Ale. EXCELLENT beer. The touch of lemon and spice was great. Definitely a summer beer.

Tried a chocolate stout from a Michigan microbrew, can't remember the name tho. It was good, reminded me of the java stout at Kbrew ,but not as good.

And had a black and tan, it was delish.

oh, and I forgot to add.

The riverfront Cafe in Niles, MI. Great place, about 20 mins from work. Oberon on Tap. It was my first time drinking Oberon on tap, it was exceptionally good. They also have lots of other big Michigan beers on tap here.

I will be making frequent trips in the future.

I tried Stoudts IPA when I could not find Dogfish Head 90m IPA. I think it is at least as good, maybe even better. I need to find Dogfish Head 90m IPA again to decide.

Never tried a Dogfish beer. I've heard lots about it... need to get out and try it.

That and Fattire. They just started selling in my state.

I would recommend both Stoudts and Dogfish Head. They are strong beers with alcohol level ~9-10%.

Beaulieu Vineyard 2003 Rutherford Cabernet, amazing cab, had it for two and a half years when I got it as a present on my 21st, well worth the wait. I just don't drink enough wine these days, way more healthy then all the beer but way harder on the wallet.

Okay, someone just brought over a six-pack of Breckenridge Brewery's Agave Wheat beer and I think I'm in love. It's a wonderfully nice unfiltered wheat beer that reminds me of a Bavarian style I had in San Francisco last fall. The head is white, lacy and really sweet while the sweetness is just barely perceptible in the body of the ale. Nice, moderately thick and pretty complex though light enough that it's perfect for the summer heat, probably my new go to lawnmower beer when the kids are slamming Coors.

Tried Bells' Brewery "Hell Hath No Fury" ale today.

It is really good. A dark but not bitter abbey-style ale.
