Last night had a $2 margarita with the best $2 tacos I've ever had at a place in my hotel in Vegas. I'm thinking my boss and I will have a few more meals there this week. They had some other $2 drink specials and they also have a plate of nachos that a family of 6 could eat for dinner.
And I'm on a hunt for a place to get good beer on the strip in Vegas, or maybe in the downtown area if we scope that out. Any ideas?
It's not on the strip, but sort of nearby - find Gordon Biersch. They're a chain microbrewery on the West Coast similar to Karl Strauss, they make some really tasty beers. Just ask @metesn. He knows.
Drank 4 different versions of the Grand Rapids Beer City Pale Ale at some local breweries last night. 6 more left to try. They all did something different in the secondary fermentation, so there are slight variations, although the one at Schmohz was awful - I think they aren't great at sanitizing...
So yeah, this @UPSlynx dick was getting all up in my country and what not, acting like he can into booze, so I had to fly south with some goodies including:
Dat Green Spot. Dat Blackwoods.
Both were gorgeous sipped straight up, but while Green Spot is obscenely easy drinking that 60% Blackwoods burns so good. Oh, and if Bobby tells you to try boozin' while you breathe with blackwoods....it's a trap.
omg that Whiskey. That gin kicked our asses that night.
I haven't tried the Corenwyn yet. Gonna bust that out tonight. @Basil, do you have the pic of us being smug, or is that on my camera? I don't remember o.O
Also, @primesuspect, Basil deserves the I exist badge!
So I made it back with all the booze and didn't have to pay a dime in duty. Ownage. The corenwyn 10 was the correct choice - it actually tastes more like a whiskey than a genever. Quite smokey, INCREDIBLY smooth. It's ultimate. I put it side by side with the regular corenwyn and there wasn't a contest. It's an incredible drink.

Looks like the #1 brewery in Nevada is right next to my hotel.
Ellis Island Casino and Brewery (and their beers are only $2!)

Apparently neither @UPSlynx or I could into whiskey and camera simultaneously, cos the focus is fecked but you still sense the smugness.
I take it you managed to sneak your bottles in 'murica, how was dat corenwyn anyway? Get any other views on the Blackwoods/greenspot?

I believe in the case of Tea vs. Coffee, Tea wins here.
