This is why I like EITS. Everytime they play it's like a new song. And none of that fruity over-the-top bell stuff like on their new album - just wailing guitars wrapped in static-y distortion.
Deerhoof - Wrong Time Capsule
Awhile back I got ahold of an advance of this CD, and burned it for a girl at work. She needed me to work for her on Tuesday, so I did. When I was there tonight, she told me to go into her work locker and look on the bottom. There was a plate of cookies and a Deerhoof poster she got at some music store. That's awesome - totally made my week.
Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit Jackie-O-Motherf*cker - Flags of the Sacred Harp Future Corpses - This is a Start
Been listening to these all for the last few hours, so I just posted the albums. Such great stuff. I think I'm going to get the JOMF and Belle & Sebastian albums when they come out. The Future Corpses album is by a few people on a site I frequent, and it's amazing. Drums + guitar + violin. The mixing could use some work, but it's a great first start, and it's already on order.
The Cat Empire - New album "Two Shoes" Melbourne Band (worth a look - Aussie hip hop with Jazz and other influences)
Sweet, glorious Cat Empire! The self-titled album was a little better, I think, but Sol y Sambra from Two Shoes is crazy addictive.
I missed them when they were on tour here. They were in Colorado not too long ago and I didn't know it until it was too late!
Perhaps I need to head down under. :ausflag:
Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One (Album)
Autumn Sweater, Green Arrow, and Sugarcube are especially good. The whole album is crying out for me to take the rest of the day off, and spend the afternoon staring off into the horizon, while listening and sipping hot tea. ... That or I just really don't want to be at work today

Sage Francis - Healthy Distrust
Oh jeez. Somebody stop me! It's a rap album, and good. OOHHHH, THE PARADOX BURNNNSSS.
Great remix.
Lake Trout - Shiny Wrapper
Green Milk From The Planet Orange - A Day in the Planet Orange
Byla - The Last to Leave
The second track listed is just mind-blowing, honestly. Wow, what an awesome guitar freakout, all 10 minutes of it.
The last track is some really nice, relaxing, space/stoner rock (long, fuzzy drones, slow loops, etc).
Every bit as awesome as you'd expect a weird halfchild of post-rock and folk singing to be!
This remake pwns Genesis's original!
I haaaate this movie, but my wife is watching it with a friend... Thank God for the Internet.

Most notably - Starry Eyed Surprise, Get Em Up, Ready Steady Go
And some random techno version of "popcorn".
It's been a techno week for me.
I really like the music in the BEP song - I'm still undecided on the lyrics.
Brand New - Mix Tape
Nickelback-All The right Reasons
Jackie-O-Motherf*cker - Flags of the Sacred Harp

But, we need to stop talking about songs. The RIAA will get us!

Crazy how I could barelly tell a difference between Keane's cover and U2's original version!
Maserati - Ambassador of Cinema
Cyro Baptista - Love the Donkey and Beat the Donkey
Most definately the best mix of his bajllion that he has.

The thrird of Mr. Stevens' Christmas albums. The second album is my favorite so far, and I've yet to listen to the first in the series.
