At stock my card is slower than a 6600GT. If I OC it to about the speeds of an X700 XT I can beat the scores of the 6600GT it some benchmarks. I dont know there the 9800XT stands with the 6600GT but there is some info.

Thats not tweaked one bit at all. Completely 100% stock.

Test_Tube_Tony gets something like 37xx with his 6600GT. I'll tell him to post the actual results later.

That was on some benchmarks, I dont remember if they were games or actual benchmarks. On some the X700 Pro was no match, even when overclocked. Plus they were using the 256mb version and I only have the 128mb version.

And I still have to tweak it too. No OC anywhere.

speeds are 550/1240 with the stock cooler and an extra fan blowing on it. ive got a better HS on the way. the memory is still very stable and could probably go up much more. im doing all the OCing at this point with bios adjustments. rivatuner wont let me software oc at these speeds. actually it wont even ok the speed set in the bios. its a rosewill by the way.

look out SoLo, here i come :p

edit: this is from last night. i ran one today and it hit 3844 :)

Yeah I know. You are that close WITH an AXP, meaning you would easily top SoLo with an A64.

I need you guys to look at these numbers and tell me what they mean. I'm sure its COMPLETELY my CPU's fault as to why these numbers are so incredibly low, but I need some expert opinions. Why is my fps sooo low?? In CSS, I usually get a constant 20-30fps, but it always jumps up and down. Durning the 3dmark05 tests, they were horrrible! What's causing this?

Actually, that score is probably about right for your setup. You may be able to squeeze a bit more by overclocking the graphics card. Unfortunatly, those celeron procs are not the greatest for high-fps gaming. You may be able to hit closer to 3000 in '05 with a better processor.

Now if only I could figure out why in my tray there's a 'Safely Remove Hardware' for my Wd raptor 74, I'd be a happy man.

Oh I see, well I'm new to the SATA world.

    Anyways:

I overclocked the videocard using forceware coolbits from:

    460 / 1300 to 478 / 1330.

The results were actually pretty impressive:

    3dmark2005-08-05-05-vgaoc.jpg

    I gained 250 points from a small, and stable overclock. (8193 -> 8443)

Can't wait to get my processor oc`ed to fx-55 speeds. :]

I have this AMD I've stretched for a couple of years-

    AMD 2600+ Barton Core - OC'd 15% (191/166)
    ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Rev2 1008
PowerColor ATI X800XT (replaced 9600 Pro) stock 500/500
    Antec TrueBlue Power 480W
    1GB(2x512) Kingston Hyper-X PC3200, 2-3-2-6
    74GB SATA Raptor + 160GB WD ATA
    Plextor 716A DVD+-RW & LiteOn DVDROM/CDRW
    WinXPro Sp2

(Old stuff can still get some respect- :mullet: )

    Thinking of going X2 next.

    :wow: Holy moly

I bumped my cpu OC up to 2708 and tweaked the card somemore.
    DFI Ultra D
    Clawhammer 3500+ @2708
    1gig OCZ PC4000 EL Gold
    BFG 7800OC @ 497clock 1.4ghz mem ( used 3D05 profile and High Performance settings)

    WOW
While this may be a killer score it was running pretty hot. CPU got up to 55c during tests and the 7800 got up to 71c. At default speeds max temps were 45c 57c respectivley.

    Scott
