    looks like this "wxp-w2k-8-07-018380E.exe"

Well that's what I installed anyway and this is what I got ...with a little more tweaking and oc'ing I'm confident I would break 3k

what are your specs, are you overclocking? cause i think we have similar specs but i can only hit 2.7k

Managed to squeeze out 6K with this setup finally. I finally found 2X512 of ram that does 230 fsb+ on an Nforce2 board. I refuse to go back to 2X256, even if it gives me another thousand points in 3dmark.

I figured "Aw hell...I'll catch Mackanz."

    not.

ATI 9800 PRO default settings on CAT 4.9
    AMD 3800+
    MSI K8T NEO2
    2 x 512 MB Corsair 3200
    XP SP2
    1024x768x32 at 75Hz
    HS & VS target = 2.0
non-oc'd stock default on mobo no tweaking

    A piddly 2477

I think I'll turn everything down and see if I can at least bump past Shorty.

For the processor you have you should definitely upgrade that video card...

Upgrade? Crap...I can't keep up sometimes. Sure....I'll go buy a 6800 or the XT and then the 7000 will come out or the XXT or the BFVC one million.

I agree, the x800/6800 series is as big of an improvement in performance as the 9700 series was when it came.

started at 2498, then got to 2517 no oc'ing. Then with a little tweaking on card 2689. Then even more tweaking on video after adding cpu heatsink on it
    (p.s. Any ideas how to get a higher score running: 2500+ @ 2GHz, 1.5GB ram 3-3-3-11, 160GB sata, 9800 pro @ 440/380.)

oi think thats me with my sad 2034. But thats with everything turned way up. I think my cpu was around 2500ish and video card @ 342core and 312mem. I'm sure you could break 2100 with some tweaking. As for me I gave up on teh tweaking 2000 2100 blagh still depressing :bawling:

Dunno about you but I'm deff looking into a new card.

For those who don't like clicking links...
    Score: 2744

    System:
    Athlon64 3000+ @ 2.1GHz
    MSI Radeon 9800 XT core(but it's a Pro... )@ 405/378MHz
    1GB PC3200 DDR @ 420MHz
    Windows XP with Omega Drivers(6.14.10.6497)

I dumbed down my drivers though, extreme performance for the textures. Otherwise the score would be 2667.

    My notebook got 848 3dMarks in '05.

    It's an
    AMD64 3400+ (2.2GHz 1MB L2)
    Radeon 9600 M10 Core 64MB RAM

    Wow that's sad.

Maybe there was something not set right... That does seem very low considering the 64bit and the 9600 card. My 2.0 Pentium M Lappy was close to 1500...

Still thats a pretty nice notebook. :)

Does your notebook have CPU throttling turned on in the BIOS? If yes, that would account for the disappointing score. When you run benchmarks, does the CPU cooler fan kick on? If it doesn't, it probably means that your CPU is throttled.

I'll have to check on that. I know that it throttles down to 800MHz on battery, no matter what I do. I don't know if it throttles the CPU when it's plugged in... Maybe I accidentally didn't have it plugged in?
