I remember that church... and I remember that it was for sale.... That would be sweet. Go ahead and buy both places... a backup LAN spot.

I could just imagine all the protesters that would flock to the building every time we had the LAN, though. ;D

We take down the cross then...if there was one.

Prime could use it for storage the rest of the year.

Well Team Nexlia and I can look into seeing about hosting one down here at the Gaming Shop in Milford... It's big enough to accomodate as many people that were at the last place and they even have some good computers that can be rented for people that didn't feel like bringing their own rig. Cincinnati Area would also be a more central location for Clutch and the rest of the Southern S-M peeps... Thoughts?

Well... the thought from 6 months ago was that Brian was in charge of the SM-LAN and it will need to be up to him to determine if the location needs to be moved or of he wants to hand over the logicistic of the event to someone else...

{PAGING Brian, PAGING Brian.... Line One} What's the status? The closer we get, the tougher it is to keep weekends open during the summer.

Dude, I remember that Church, they still haven't sold that place, wow. Whatever the spot is, I am sure raising money for it will not be a problem. As far as location, I'm not driving this time, so I can and will fly wherever there is a airport, haha.

I just need a significant amount of money to make this happen at deebe's

I really don't know what to do because having it at another location will involve paying for space, and that means we either go without shirts or pay more, and I want to avoid this if at all possible
• QCHQCH Ancient Guru Chicago Area - USA Icrontian

My preference is that we forgo the shirts in favor of getting this thing going...

I would say that $30 for everyone (I would chip in $10 extra for a shirt). If someone wants a shirt, then they pay extra. $30 per person x 50 people = $1,500.

I'm not sure how far that would go, but it's something to consider.

(Again, not butting in, just offering my opinion)

Here is your quote for custom screen printed garments:

Location 1: 1 color full back on each item
Location 2: 3 color left chest on each item

150 quantity = $5.79 each.
50 quantity = $9.89 each.
20 quantity = $14.64 each.

Set up Fees $0.00 We do not charge for extra setup fees
Screen Charges each color $0.00 We do not charge any extra per screen charges
Standard Art fee $69 for a 3 color design.

Just a quick lookup.... Good quality T-Shirt with Short-Media logo on the front, two lines of text on back. JUST AS A COMPARISON.

Ohhhh....

I know you had talked about buying it. When you mentioned it today I thought maybe they were still open to the idea of a rental.

Maybe I'll buy a lottery ticket this week. :mullet:

Is Deebe's still open, or is he going to close the doors on it soon? I was just wondering if we needed to rent out deebe's or not. I would pitch in extra for a shirt myself, not a problem. I also like the idea of everyone paying a set amount to go, this way we can have money to either rent out a place, or get shirts, whatever the case may be.

It's not a question of renting out deebe's, it's a question of is deebe's even going to be there. I can't plan on anything at deebe's - the only guarantee is if I actually end up buying the place.

So in that regard, I guess it's time to start looking for an alternative venue :( I'll start checking places out this weekend

(prime house... we can fit 20 in the basement, another 20 in the first floor, and 5 0r 10 in the garage... )

Good luck... Find us a nice place.

We really could have it at my house, honestly. I have room for about 30 people in the basement, and I could fit another 10-15 in the great room... :eek3:

Can't be worse that Deebe's power and heat issue.... ;D

I can just see 30 extention cords, network lines.... Mike and I will be over on Wednesday to drill holes in the floors and walls for wiring and ventilation.... ;D

I crack me up.... :D

Maybe I'm looking at this to simplistic BUT what's wrong with planning on holding the thing at DeeBee's and then if he shutters, sells the place, etc.. using Casa De Prima as an alternative location.

You may hate to do it BUT you could always put a cap on the number of attendees.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something simple but I'm on one of my staff's PC right now and the freakin' resolution is like 640x480! Arghhhhh! Reading this board is next too impossible.

And maybe like DeeBee's is not an option, changing her resolution is NOT ONE EITHER :shakehead

I just can't commit to a place that "might not" be there by the time the summer rolls around. People will be buying plane tickets, driving, planning weekends off, etc. all to come to this, and I have to be 100% sure that it will be there.

Very smart approach - I told you I missed something simple...

I'll try and make this is the last time I say this but if I can be of assistance (sans writing a $200,000 check), Just let me know.

That's a good one from a guy with him MBA.... good business sense.

Take it from a guy geting his Master in Info Management... Buy some blank computer checks and have a computer print it, fold it, insert it into an envelope, and mail it... no finger prints, no tracing....

But it would still bounce.... grrrrr.... That's why I don't have my degree....

Maybe we should put up a poll asking people what they would spend to attend The Lan. It might make prime's search for a venue easier if he had a budget in mind.
