SM LAN 2005 - The First Thread

It's time. Time to start the excitement building, and the anticipation for the 5-6 month wait before the next SM LAN.
I called Deebe's today, and found out that George is selling the place
He hasn't found a buyer yet... The insane, twisted, and masochistic entrepreneur in me wants to buy it, and open a gaming cafe and use the basement for sarcnet and short-media corporate offices. Not that I've thought about it in much detail or anything
But as things stand now, SM LAN 05 will NOT be held at Deebe's..... So step 1 is securing a location. Which we will very likely have to pay for
Let's start with the dates.
I'm thinking June 17-19, 2005. This would be after finals for most of the college students, and after school ends for you parents of elementary/middle school-age kids.

Entropy, you're practically next door! Why, you're just a lake-hop and a four hour drive away!
although hopping the lake may prove to be problematic.......
Nonsense. Don't you know I can fly?
(What a great lesson to teach our kids, hey?)
The same holds for me.
I don't care where it is, I will be there baby
Entropy, you have to be there, and that is the bottom line
If we have to rent a place, that is fine. I'm sure we can raise enough money, we got a good group on our hands.
I'd hate to make Ocomik sound like a savant (idiot savant) but June would leave me out of the mix.... :shakehead
Since deebe's is apparently not going to be the venue, the dates are way up in the air right now.
I hope to see you there.
No no, I think the real question here is - Would YOU trust YOUR car to a moose?
Heh. You've never been to California. Admittedly, I haven't been to Michigan either, but I suspect that California drivers (myself included) are worse.
We drive just fine. Apparently you and your Mustang don't.
